Bordeaux is widely considered to be one of, if not the greatest wine region in the world.  The wines are exceptional, but can be a bit confusing to get one's head around.  Ryan McElveen, a member of the Jurade de St. Emilion, will walk us through the fundamentals of Bordeaux, focusing on varietals, local regions (and what this means on a bottle!), and how to pick the very best bottle of Bordeaux for your money.

Cab and Chard may be the lords of the California wine industry, but there are many fantastic offerings from less popular varietals!  We explore some of the unsung heroes of the West Coast, including a look at the mavericks who helped shape the wide array of wines we enjoy today.  Like California wines, but ready for something a bit...different?  See you in class!
